This recipe started out like how most of our most popular recipes start off on this blog- a vague idea. I rare ever order pizza and had no idea that the concept was quite popular at Pizza Hut because I don’t order from Pizza Hut. I simply had a bunch of ingredients for tacos because I had family visiting recently from Maryland and we bought items for a fun Mexican fiesta.
Taco pizza and yes… really in minutes!
This is a very easy thing to make because everything is practically done. So it’s a fun recipe for teens and kids and definitely still cool enough for the cool “kids” who pay the mortgage.
Whether you want this for a quick and easy weeknight dinner meal, lunchboxes, fun party foods, BBQ/cookout, snack or family/game/movie night or even for great picnic and road trip food… this Taco Pizza is really able hit very many punches in many different scenarios.
Plus this is a recipe that serves two purposes.
Taco pizza semi homemade
You can either make it from leftover taco meat from a previous taco fiesta or because that taco meat is so quick to cook, you could do it from scratch in 15 minutes.
Because I have used naan made in a tandoori instead of traditional pizza dough, this recipe is lower on carbs per serving. Nevertheless, it is not by any means low carb… just smart carb.
If you have a large group or party or a bunch of ravenous teenagers, shopping for the ingredients from Pricemart (the Costco brand operating in the Caribbean and Latin America) or Costco itself if you are US based or Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Aldi HEB etc. In Dubai/UAE- Carrefour, Lulu, Spinneys and Waitrose will have all your ingredients.

STEWARD’S NOTE: Truth be told, this is a simple, easy assembly recipe. You can always modify it and do more steps from scratch. I usually prefer to buy large blocks and grate my own cheeses because pre-grated cheeses have additives to keep the grated cheese from clumping together. For that reason, I would rather normally buy slices of cheeses over grated cheese. I feel the same way about commercial breads that have been imported from other countries- because they have copious amounts of preservatives to keep them fresher for longer. Naan is easy enough to make from scratch. But sometimes, making everything from scratch is not possible. So since my family was visiting on vacation, and we wanted to spend more time exploring that toiling in the kitchen, a recipe like this makes sense. So this is not my recommendation for everyday nutrition, but an occasional treat.
